Referrals are accepted from concerned Parents or Carers, Doctors, Health Visitors, Social Workers, Head Teachers, Teachers, SENCO's, Family Support Workers and individuals over the age of 18.
Sessions can be held in schools, Children's Centres' or indeed anywhere where the client can have their session in a safe & uninterrupted environment.
Once the referral is made, an interview is carried out with the referrer, questionnaires are completed and information is gathered. the therapist will then meet with the child. This process helps us gain an overview of the situation, assess and plan the appropriate intervention for the individual.
- Attachment focused therapy is an intervention involving parent/carer and child
- Counselling is a 1:1 intervention
- Creative Arts and Play Therapy can be 1:1 or groups
Where Play Therapy is carried out with groups of children, the children would be of a similar age and experiencing similar issues for example divorced/ separating parents, bereavement and this is generally carried out in schools.
